Knitting Noodles roots for the quality of Spanish products: Spain has the best quality merino wool and that’s why KN blankets are 100% indigenous.
The process for obtaining the wool is as follows:
—The first thing is the shearing. Every year, sheep produce a new fleece that is sheared in spring.
—Second is washing and drying the fleece. In the washing process, the lanoline is obtained, a substance used nowadays in the production of cosmetics.
—Third step: Brushing the wool. Wool is combed several times and packed into big reels. At this point, Knitting Noodles starts its crafting process. Our own team starts knitting every blanket by hand following a care process. Blankets are handcrafted and given the pattern and finish desired.
—Finally, our blankets are labeled and packed one by one. Keeping our philosophy of using renewable raw materials, blankets are wrapped in big 100% cotton bags. This packaging keeps the blanket safe when not in use during summer time, and thanks to its cushion-like design it could become a temporary seat!
Knitting Noodles encourages the use of natural, renewable and biodegradable materials. undoubtedly wool is the best natural and sustainable alternative, to synthetic fibers.
Since our blankets are handcrafted, each of them is one-of-a-kind and there could be small variations of size or even light flaws on their surface.
As it is 100% merino wool, dry-wash is recommended. Due to nature of wool, which shrinks and becomes felt, avoid using washing machine.
A little trick to remove smell from wool garments, smoke or any other smell, is laying the blanket stretched on the bed or a big surface and let it to breath for at least an hour. Odor will disappear as magic!
Another trick to remove fluff creatded through use is to iron the item blanket-wise as usual, very softly with no pressure, and to neither water nor steam.
Otherwise no special care is needed with our blankets than with any other wool garments.
